Luxurious, sweet, smooth and French. Chambord  Black Raspberry Liqueur is everything you wish your boyfriend was… And as I discovered at the Chambord’s Se7en Sins Soiree last Friday, it could be mixed with almost anything from French Champagne to Japanese Sake!

Full of Black Raspberry Goodness

Full of Black Raspberry Goodness

Chambord was inspired by a luxurious black raspberry liqueur produced for Louis XIV during one of his visits to Chateau Chambord. Chambord Black Raspberry Liqueur represents an era of luxury and indulgence sparked by Louis XIV and his descendants and the brand’s orb shaped bottle is inspired by the centuries old symbol of the French monarchy.

Chambord is created using all natural ingredients. The finest black and red raspberries are blended, before being steeped in Cognac to achieve a highly concentrated base. The mixture is then extracted and a second infusion captures the remaining flavours from the berries. The final step is in the hands of the Maitre Liquoriste, who marries the berry infusion with Cognac and extracts of Madagascan vanilla, Moroccan citrus peel, honey and hints of fragrant herbs. The result is an unprecedented level of all-natural complexities, flavour and aroma.

Sweet like a Turkish Delight

Being a bit of a numbers freak, I believe it would have been epic to celebrate 9th birthday on the 9/09/09, but I guess Sydney’s glitterati couldn’t wait another week to party it up at the Hemmesphere’s 9th birthday bash.

Birthday Cake!

Birthday Cake!

Who else other than Sydney party king himself, Justin Hemmes, can throw a soiree where ladies wear just enough shiny sequins and beads to cover their lady bits? I personally was a little over-dressed in my animal-print Roberto Cavalli number, which initially felt like the perfect outfit for a ‘Moroccan Desert Madness’ theme of the night.

At one stage I wasn’t sure if my eyes were squinting from the non-stopping chain of orange rose martinis or the smooth and shiny chest of a new-age Aladdin, who much like Queen Scheherazade from ‘1001 Nights’ kept telling never-ending stories about his err.. Ferrari.

Orange Rose Martini anyone?

What Choo are you looking at?

When I waved 2 golden tickets to Jimmy Choo spring collection preview night in front of her nose, Donatella nearly fainted. Even for the seasoned shoe-addict like myself, these invites are hard to come by, so when told it was her birthday present, she planted a kiss right on my … ear! Hmm it was promising to be an unforgettable night. Mind you my ear didn’t stop ringing for the rest of it.

Nobody would argue that Choo’s spring collection shoes are smoking hot in every sense of the word, despite the impracticality (some heels are five inches) and their ability to make the wearer look like a regular at an S&M club.

The shoes, the bags, the semi-naked models and the price tags – everything was grand, but what really stood out for me was the lack of male population and finger food. I guess it would be challenging to eat when your hands are generously greased up with La Prairie Skin Caviar Luxe Cream – yes there were hand and foot massages and of course there was French champagne…

You see Jimmy Choo shoes all over the red carpet and you know they cost a small fortune, but if you want a quick in with the fashionistas, here is a quick fact that will make you sound like a shoe-pro: Jimmy Choo ready-to-wear shoes are not really designed by the Malaysian shoe genius. The famous designer sold his company share in 2001. Today if you want shoes that actually have anything to do with Jimmy Choo himself, you’ll have to purchase them from Jimmy Choo Couture. Available by appointment only at 18 Connaught Street in Paddington, London, England.

I believe that’s where Donatella is heading next year for her birthday.
