To celebrate a 100-year anniversary, Aston Martin has unveiled the CC100 concept speedster. The vision was simple yet enormously testing: create a car reflecting a century of brand’s heritage but one that also signals the future of the brand.
The design is based on the 1959 Le Mans and Nürburgring-winning DBR1, with materials and design elements that look to the future, according to the company. Aston Martin CEO Dr Ulrich Bez said, “CC100 is the epitome of everything that is great about Aston Martin. Fantastic heritage, exceptional design, superb engineering and an adventurous spirit.”
As an open-topped speedster, the interior and exterior boundaries merged together and from the start CC100’s racing cockpit was an integral element of the concept. The team wanted a lightweight, race car environment and used inspiration from DBR1 to design a slim dashboard proportion with compact racing seats. Further design cues came from a theme of post-war aeronautical engineering, giving rise to complex interior panelling and dynamic wing forms.
Chopard was founded in 1860 by Louis-Ulysse Chopard when he was only 24. Today, the brand is celebrating the 20th anniversary of one of its most coveted timepieces with a new model and customization options. The Happy Sport collection, as the name implies, is designed to be elegant, sporty and playful.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first model in the collection, Chopard is releasing a women’s version of the model, called the Happy Sport Medium Automatic. The new model will be available in eight different variations priced from $8,100 to $41,240. An open sapphire crystal back is exquisitely feminine and allows the wearer to see the watch’s self-winding movement.
Recently unveiled at the Baselworld, the Happy Sport Medium Automatic has a 36-mm case available in either stainless steel or 18-karat rose gold. The timepiece includes a silver-tone dial, seven moving diamonds and an alligator strap. Customers can personalise their own Happy Sport watch online, choosing the material, gems, strap, diamond charms and even engravements to add to their timepiece.

Lamborghini, the Italian exotic sports car maker founded in 1963 by Ferruccio Lamborghini is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2013. Lambo has now dropped a teaser giving us a look at the past and the future of what’s to come. Check out the video after the jump.
Lamborghini will celebrate its legendary 50th anniversary throughout 2013. The year-long celebrations, held in Italy and abroad, will culminate on May 7 – 11, when 1200 km of Italy’s roads will be invaded by hundreds of vintage and modern-day Lamborghinis from every corner of the globe, as they parade through some of the country’s most beautiful cities.
Lamborghini owners and dealers will take center stage in the most memorable gathering in the history of the company as they write another important chapter in the history of automotive events. Because of the strong bond that has always existed between the company and the Emilia-Romagna region, the countless events held all over the world to celebrate the anniversary – with the participation of thousands of owners, collectors and fans – will be strongly characterized by a spirit of solidarity and public awareness.

Earlier this year we joined Graeme Fidler and Michael Herz in celebration of a boutique opening in Sydney and since then it’s been forward and upward for Bally’s director duo. This year Bally is celebrating 160th anniversary and this milestone-worthy occasion has put extra pressure on thier creative minds… and let’s face it, the standard has been set in the highest Swiss tradition: unmatched craftsmanship, clean lines and multi-dimensional feel. Just take a look at Bally’s past ad campaigns:
“The challenge for us has been to evolve Bally as a truly relevant, global luxury brand,” said the creative directors. “But to have that opportunity as the brand marks 160 years of excellence is a great privilege. We are committed to defining the future with not only contemporary collections, but also making Bally’s craftsmanship visible in fresh, modern ways.”
Earlier this month an exclusive cocktail event was held in London to celebrate the 160th anniversary capsule collection inspired by the brand’s heritage and revealed in time for September’s biggest global shopping event, Vogue Fashion’s Night Out. Characterized by soft lines and vibrant seasonal tones, each capsule collection piece carries the specially designed 160th logo that incorporates the Bally crest and reflects the brand’s legacy. Here is my personal favourite:
